Where would you recommend ( flying from uk ) any of the over or anywhere else? Please remember am on a tight budget - so Morocco is looking the best on PRICE at the moment!!! Thanks!

Voting Question: What Do People Think?
I have a pal who has his possess home here in the UK. He has worked difficult every his life and paid into a personal pension scheme as well as the state pension. However shortly before his retirement (4 yrs ago) his personal pension scheme took a massive nosedive and because of this he has to now live in Tunisia. He rented his home out for around 18 months but has had to arrive home because they terminated their contract. Last night I seen him for the first time for close 20 months and his home was in a right state. Anyhow he told me he wanted to sell his home and receive back Tunisia. As well as this being the worst time to sell a home it would probably be on the market for 18 months before anyone showed any slightest interest. I have no property or any investments in bricks and mortar (I will receive to the point) I have offered to buy a percentage of his home-this would probably amount to around o third of its true market value. He would be still possess the biggest percentage of the home. But with this third that he would receive he would be able to live very comfortably in Tunisia. I know that this is a question that a financial advisor could only answer but what do people think about this idea? The home is paid for. His paid his last mortgage demand was about seven years ago so it has no debts on it. What do people think to the over scenario. Thanks

Resolved Question: French as spoken in France today vs. in its former colonies today?
I am very curious about the way French is spoken (as well as written) in Arabic-speaking former colonies of France. These include Algeria, Tunisia, Morocco and Lebanon. Consider these factors: - Pronunciation/accent (compare the neutral, the purest form of French accent of Tours or the popular Paris accent to that of people who talk French as a first or second language in North Africa or Lebanon) - grammar - idiomatic or colloquial expressions (contemporary) - vocabulary and usage On a scale of 0 to 20 (0 being totally different, 20 being absolutely identical), how different is the French language spoken today in Maghreb and Lebanon when compared to the French language spoken in France today? Thank you.

Resolved Question: Muslims I need your help / My husband is out of control. Any Tunisians / Muslims who can help me please reply ?
I went on a girly holiday and met my husband. He was Tunisian and we had only known each other for 3 mths when we got married in Tunisia. I was so in adore and he was great with my 3yr old son. We applied for a settlement visa for him to live with us in the UK and in Jan 2006, he came here to the UK on a settlement visa lasting 2 years and expires mid Jan 2009. Since he came here he has changed so much. We were over the moon when I immediately fell pregnant as we were both desperate for a baby and were so in adore but things got really bad, we argued nite and day, he changed into a controlling, violent man who I dont even know anymore. I visited the doctor to look about maybe an abortion although hated the thought of it, especially after having 1 child already but it was better than bringing a baby into the nightmare, I was too far gone so when he explained it was not a simple thingto do abortion was no longer an option, it was barbaric to me what they would have to do :-( I hoped and prayed that it was just a culture shock and he hated the uk and would settle in. He prev worked in hotels as an entertainer (not really difficult work!) and every of asudden he was labouring on a building site so I understand his frustration, there was other factors eg we thought his qualifications in Tunisia would be valid here but werent so he was basically unemployable to most as an unskilled worker basically. Before we e had the baby, things were still bad but after she was born in Dec 07 he seemed to wake up and was lovely. He apologised for everything as said she had changed his life and he respected me so muchmore now I was the mom of his child, he was emotional through the birth and we were so close again and was again a great stepdad to my 5 yr old boy. It didnt last and the arguments started again over stupid things, he says I nag and I prob do but he goes to the extreme and hes getting worse. I am now at the stage where my paremts have my daughters passport as he has threatened numerous times to kidnap my daughter and take her to Tunisia. The police have been called to the home cos the neighbours reported him assaulting me outside in the road and him shouting tardy at night. We are now arguing mainly about religion. He is born Muslim and my parents christened me but I do not really believe in a religion and I believe religion causes most the worlds problems. he says SHE IS MUSLIM and I say NO SHE ISNT, I donot give her pork out of respect for him and I have told him that he can tutor her his muslim way etc and I will tell her that Daddy is a muslim and he believes in this and this etc etc. I will tell her Iam christian but I dont really feel strongly about religion and she can make up her won mind but its not good enough for him and he is becoming more violent and nasty everyday. i dont know what else to do thats why I am here now writing to you every. I know you are going to say leave him but I am worried he will take my daughter and the police arent much good until hes actually done something!! Please help

Voting Question: A Winter Daybreak Above Vence ANALYSIS!!?!?!?!?!?
The night's drifts Pile up below me and behind my back, Slide down the hill, rise again, and build Eerie little dunes on the roof of the home. In the valley below me, Miles between me and the town of St.-Jeannet, The road lamps glow. They are so icy, they might as well be dark. Trucks and cars Cough and drone down there between the golden Coffins of greenhouses, the startled squawk Of a rooster claws heavily across A grove, and drowns. The gumming snarl of some grouchy dog sounds, And a man bitterly shifts his broken gears. True night still hangs on, Mist cluttered with a racket of its possess. Now on the mountainside, A little way downhill among turning rucks, A square takes form in the side of a dim wall. I hear a pail rattle or something, tinny, No other stirring behind the dim face Of the goatherd's home. I imagine His goats are still sleeping, dreaming Of the fresh roses Beyond the walls of the greenhouse below them. And of lettuce leaves opening in Tunisia. I turn, and somehow Impossibly hovering in the air over everything, The Mediterranean, nearer to the moon Than this mountain is, Shines. A voice clearly Tells me to snap out of it. Galway Mutters out of the home and up the rock stairs To start the motor. The moon and the stars Suddenly flicker out, and the whole mountain Appears, pale as a shell. Look, the sea has not fallen and broken Our heads. How can I feel so warm Here in the dead middle of January? I can Scarcely believe it, and yet I have to, this is The only life I have. I receive up from the rock. My body mumbles something unseemly And follows me. Now we are every sitting here strangely On top of sunlight. DOES ANYBODY KNOW WHAT THIS POEM MEANS?!?!?!?!?

Resolved Question: I just wrote this poem-what do you think? Oh, and it's really long, so read all of it. Criticism welcome?
A fierce wind seeps its way into the midnight bullet train- and leaves I shivering and my can of black beans chill icy- chilly-s'chilly-s'a-ll-chilly- on this icy train-bopping heading smiling to Coltrane, oh baby I do believe I adore your way of smiles and dresses and jeans, long hair waves and twinkling sunlit in the moonlight eyes- ah, lovely. Ah, moon-I adore you, metal chill car-I adore you- icy moonlit tracks-I adore you, and every this way into the mainland vein of America, a 'night in tunisia' and recorded slapped on beat and delivered in wax folding-can I snooze here? Should I as the night train speeds past middle plains and lady marks dawn with her neck lovin' bites behind the ear of loving sighs. I am leaving Washington D.C., the atmosphere is too much! for a sweet dreary bum as I- San Fransisco is my renaissance. I adore her curves and rainy day pouts-I adore you and by train I pass dizzily by- onward night train! Sick to my bullet am I! Another poorboy, a pint, a bottle, a stick, a light, I snooze, I dream of hips and thighs, I wake, I clean, comb, clean teeth by fingernail, every to the rythym of the night train in silver, I shot a grain, I chewed and shook leather, I sit and write in a furious time-table of lapsing seconds and breaths-good God I'm a wreck- and I adore the crates that read as my companions oft do-"Made and bound for China"-in red lettering and sealed with kiss for luck-I adore the chinamen in chinatown down by the coastal bay, the swaying-ness of it every, smiling wrinkled oriental wisdom of centuries Zen. And onward onward! I'm sleepy an' dull, where's my Jazz, Duluoz? You promised life on the mountain, every I found was a dirty hut and a dead mouse-what a religious promise in said imagination! - I pass through up Southern California-LA in her man-made beautiful flowery grin in the lights and shadowy figures jump cars such as mine-and now share a giggle, a smoke, a drink and tales of the wild cowboy west-where old bums drink rye and rum and skaddish! Blam!-San Francisco is a-run with rennaisance lovers and buisnessmen! adore on the docks, adore on the hills, adore to be found a 2 'o clock morn, let's talk of being made, then follow suit- as in a night in tunisia...

Resolved Question: Arabic speakers please help!?
I know this sounds weird but do you have any idea how the letter ''jeem'' ( ج ) is pronounced in Classical Arabic ( i.e in Quran ) ?? for example, the letter qaaf ( ق ) is pronounced: in Libya, the gulf -----> as the English ''g'' in gate in Egypt, Syria ------> a glottal cease , as the American ''tt'' in ''button'' in Tunisia, Morocco ---> same as the Standard Arabic, correct pronunciation ''q'' (no English equivalent) Similarly the letter ''jeem'' has many sounds depending on the dialect. However; I thought the sound ''zh'' (like the ''s'' in measure ) was the correct one (the one used in Standard Arabic and the Quran) but according to this article http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arabic_phonology the correct pronunciation is like the English ''j'' (like in ''bridge'' or ''jeans'') or another sound (that doesn't exist in English and I can't really produce it!!) to hear this sound , check the sound sample in this link http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Voiced_palatal_plosive they may be right cause it sounds different in different dialects: Egyptian, some parts of Jordan and Yemen ----> like the ''g'' in ''gate'' Gulf -----> a ''ch'' sound as in ''seat'' some parts of Oman ----> ''y'' sound as in ''yes'' If you don't know the Answer, please write down how you pronounce it (the letter ''jeem'' (ج) ) in your dialect and also include the name of your country, feel free to comment about what you just read! thank you!

Resolved Question: I need information on traditional Tunisian dress and where to find it.?
I found a question that showed some links to traditional dress, but I want to know which region or area's dress would be most representational of the country. I'm doing a long-term project on Tunisia where I'll have to dress traditionally so I'll also need to purchase some. I looked online but couldn't find a website. Does anyone know?

Resolved Question: Opening and Closing Letters in Arabic?
Hey every, I'm writing a letter in Arabic to a pal in Tunisia and I wanted to know how you should open and close a letter. Is it just "Azeezi Jack" for "Dear Jack" or is there a better way? Also, I've heard you should open with the bismillah. Do non-Muslims do that too or is it just a Muslim thing? Thanks.
